AB Lebanese Restaurant is set to Launch

AB Lebanese Restaurant

A New Dining Experience!

The AB Experience

Ali Baba, best known for their mouth-watering and wholesome K'Bab™ & Wraps, has just recently extended with the launch of a casual dining restaurant, AB Restaurant.

AB’s Restaurant opened its doors for the first time on the 1st March 2008, in 815 George St Sydney. At AB’s Restaurant we serve only the most unique and authentic Mediterranean flavours.

The first Ali Baba restaurant launched in 1979 and after franchising in 1991 became a familiar brand in local shopping environments, offering a uniquely wholesome taste sensation for hungry customers.

Traditional, yet healthy food

As Ali Baba CEO, Robert Marjan explains, “The new AB’s Restaurant signifies Ali Baba’s return to sit-down dining and is a result of the increasing demand for kebabs and wraps.

“Once upon a time, this type of food was considered ‘exotic’, nowadays however more and more Australians are on the look out for fresh produce and wholesome food, rather than poor quality and fatty alternatives. What has resulted is that kebabs and wraps have now become a family favourite right across the country.

“Our goal in opening AB’s Restaurant in Sydney is to continue serving that traditional, healthy and delicious cuisine that Australians know and love, giving our customers the same satisfaction and enjoyment one would get from a wholesome home cooked meal, shared amongst family and friends,” said Mr. Marjan.

Our menu choices are designed so as to stand out from the competition, developed, prepared, cooked and served in the Ali Baba World Class Executive Kitchen.

The WCEK is the cultural heart of the business, and the people that work there our caretakers of time-honoured recipes handed down through the generations and evolved over time to suit the Australian market in terms of taste, nutritional value and reduced fat content.

By using lean meats, antioxidant rich marinades, low cholesterol oil and fresh produce, Ali Baba has always offered a healthy, convenient, wholesome alternative to high fat, high sugar, highly processed fast foods and this will be translated into AB’s Restaurant.

The AB’s menu includes such Mediterranean favourites such as:

  • AB’s Grilled Shish Tawook
  • Shish kebabs
  • Authentic home-style dips, and
  • AB’s Special Leaf & Herb salad

For larger groups, AB’s will prepare tasty platters and even a banquet dinner, encompassing a wide variety of flavours for all taste buds.

Dietary Needs

AB’s will also offer a variety of dishes that cater for specific dietary needs. And as Robert Marjan explains, understanding the sensitivities involved is a particular point of care for our WCEK team.

“We understand that when it comes to food everybody is different.  In developing the AB’s menu, the WCEK team has made great use of the dedicated and quarantined vegetarian food preparation area,” said Mr Marjan.

The designated vegetarian-only produce preparation room at the WCEK ensures there is no cross contamination from meat products.  This quality assurance means customers can feel safe that they are dining on food that is prepared with the utmost care and precision.

With the launch of AB’s Restaurant, diners can now enjoy the richly influenced flavours of the Mediterranean, with delicious choices available every day at AB’s.  The option of a great taste sensation that won’t hurt the wallet or the waist is sure to appeal to many, especially those seeking a little quiet time and ambience with their meals, something as Mr. Marjan believes, is in short supply for the CBD.

An Oasis in the heart of the city

AB’s Restaurant will offer you your own private escape from the crowded and noisy CBD. It’s also a really affordable dining destination.

“We understand that it’s not always possible to get a long enough lunch break but at AB’s we aim to make sure people can have a quiet conversation and share company in a relaxed environment that delivers an excellent dining experience,” promises Mr. Marjan.
